What to Expect

Experience the stunning beauty of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland on the Highlights Tour, where you’ll enjoy breathtaking scenic lookouts and free time to explore charming local attractions at your leisure. This guided tour offers a full day of exploring without the pre-arranged tastings and meals, giving you the freedom to purchase food and beverages as you go.

Starting with a pick-up from your accommodation, the tour takes you towards the lush subtropical hinterland. The first stop of the day is a scenic lookout that offers stunning views of the National Heritage-listed Glass House Mountains, where you will also have the opportunity to enjoy morning tea at the café.

Next, you’ll visit the dairy town of Maleny, where you have free time to explore local shops. From there, you’ll head to The Barrel, an iconic destination shaped like a giant wine barrel on the grounds of Clouds Vineyard, where you have the option to purchase wine at your own expense if you wish. Afterward, the tour continues to Gerrards Lookout, offering more breathtaking views of the hinterland.

The tour then heads to the quaint hinterland village of Montville, with a stop at a scenic lookout along the way. You’ll have ample free time to browse the shops and boutiques, pick up locally handcrafted items, enjoy lunch at one of the local eateries, and take in the fresh mountain air. Finally, the tour makes its way to the last stop at Mapleton Falls Lookout before returning you to your accommodation.

What You’ll Get

Glass House Mountains Lookout Your first stop on the tour is Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve in Maleny, located on the aptly named Mountain View Road. From here, you’ll be able to enjoy stunning views towards the coast and take in the breathtaking National Heritage-listed Glass House Mountains.

Dairy Town of Maleny Our next stop is the charming town of Maleny, located 436 meters above sea level on the southern edge of the Blackall Range. This picture-perfect dairy country town is known for attracting painters, craftspeople, and potters. While in Maleny, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the local shops and attractions.

Clouds Vineyard – The Barrel Our next stop is Clouds Vineyard’s cellar door, where you have the option to purchase local award-winning wines during your visit. Immerse yourself in the aroma and taste of the wines, with the option to purchase a flight of wines if you wish.

Gerrard’s Lookout One of the scenic lookouts we will visit is Gerrard’s Lookout, situated on a hilltop that provides stunning views of the coastline including Coolum, Maroochydore, Caloundra, and Bribie Island.

Montville Village When we arrive at the Hinterland Village of Montville, you’ll have ample free time to explore the delightful shops and boutiques, enjoy lunch at one of the local eateries, and take in the picture-postcard village and its fresh mountain air.

Mapleton Falls Lookout The Mapleton Falls Lookout is often considered a highlight of the day for visitors, as it is a hidden treasure located in the Hinterland region. This scenic lookout provides breathtaking views of the Obi Obi Valley and the lush rainforest canopy below.

As the day winds down and you’ve had the chance to purchase a few local items, we’ll make our way back from the stunning hinterland, returning you to your accommodation for a well-deserved rest before dinner.

Kudos to Coast to Hinterland Tours, we had an early staff Christmas Party yesterday, what an absolute awesome day we all had.They personally picked us up from Mooloolaba with our tourstarting with a trip up to Mary Cairncross Rainforest reserve where we had a light morning tea with Bubbles of course 🥂Then to Maleny Chocolate Factory where we could choose a take home gift 🎁 what a suprise. 🤗😋Next stop was to King Ludwigs Restaurant, Bier & Wein Bar in Maleny for the most informative and entertaining wine / beer tasting ever 🍷🍺.Bravo 🙌🙌🙌Gerrads lookout was next on our agenda and the views back to the Coast didn't disappoint .Lunch was at Secrets on the Lake at Montville, such an awesome space so tranquil.Oh my what a treat , such a beautiful lunch and dessert 😋 🥂🍺🍹we were each given a red rose on departure by the Matre d'🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹We felt very special! 😊Our next destination The Flamehill winery where we sampled some lovely wines while looking over beautiful views 🍾🥃🥂Last but certainly not least we ended our tour at Sunshine and Sons Distillery @ Woombye for Vodka, Gin and Rum tasting, owner Micheal and his lovely assistant Ash took us through a myriad of sensational tastes each one quite unique.Our Tour guides Owner Mark aka 'Pine nuts' and his assistant Mark made our day delightful in every way nothing was too much trouble, their service was exemplary.Thank you.😊

Took the Eumundi market bus. Highly recommended. Saves time to find a park. You have 3 hrs to walk around the markets which gives you a chance to look at everything. Had Peter as the driver. Was very informative.

We took the Eumundi Markets Group Transfer Tour on Saturday 7/9/24. It was perfect. We were picked up from our accomodation at Noosa Lakes Resort and dropped off at the market. Three hours at the market was just the right amount of time to see everything. We were then picked up and taken back to our accomodation. The bus was clean and comfortable. The drver was polite and friendly. We avoided any hassles with parking around the market. We thought it was well worthwhile and would recommend it.

We had a great tour yesterday with Rob and we enjoyed some magnificent scenery and towns that we had not experienced on previous trips to the Sunshine Coast Rob was a very attentive and professional driver and tour guide who went out of his way to ensure all of the people on the tour were well catered for. We were on the food and wine tour as well and all four experiences were great. The cheese tasting, the wine and beer tasting the chocolate factory and last but not least the Christmas in July lunch at the stunning Secrets on the Lake where both the food and the venue were outstandinga highly recommended tour and thanks again Rob for making it an extra special occasion
