Can I travel on a Minibus Charter if I’m not double Vaccinated?
On 17th December, Queensland will finally reopen its borders to allow vaccinated travellers to enter the state from anywhere in Australia including declared hotspots, without needing to quarantine. We have missed our interstate customers and can’t wait to welcome them back and show them a good time on the Sunshine Coast!
As you are most likely aware, the reopening of the borders is bringing with it some new restrictions. Like many Queensland businesses, we have been busy unpacking what the new government restrictions will mean for us and our guests on both Day tours and Minibus Charters. Please be aware that whilst the 17th December is the expected date for these restrictions to come into place, it may happen sooner depending on Queensland’s vaccination rates.
Day Tours
All of our scenic day tours include some of the finest hospitality venues in the region, such as restaurants and wineries. As a result of the new government restrictions, from 17th December unvaccinated customers will not be allowed to enter these venues and enjoy the wine tasting, cheese tasting, meals, and other activities that make our tours so memorable.
This has left us with no choice but to decline bookings if guests are unable to provide proof of double vaccination at the time of pick up. Failure to provide this proof on pick up may result in a 50% same-day cancellation fee. To avoid losing money to cancellation fees, we urge all customers to ensure that they have their proof of vaccination ready before the day of travel. If you have a tour booked for on or after 17th December and you will not be fully vaccinated by the tour date, we encourage you to cancel or reschedule your booking as soon as possible to avoid cancellation fees.
Minibus Charters
Coast to Hinterland Tours also offers private minibus charters to a variety of Sunshine Coast destinations. Under the new regulations, guests will be allowed to board Queensland registered public passenger vehicles (our minibusses) and enjoy the charter regardless of vaccination status.
Please be aware that when you book a minibus charter or minibus transfer with us, you are simply booking transport to a venue of your choice. The ability to board the vehicle does not guarantee entry to the venue that you are visiting. If you are travelling to a hospitality venue that is prohibited from allowing unvaccinated customers to enter, you will need to prove that you are fully vaccinated on arrival to the venue staff.
The lead person who books the minibus charter on behalf of a group is fully responsible for ensuring that everyone in the group is fully vaccinated before confirming the minibus booking and that they have the correct documentation to enter the venue. Coast to Hinterland Tours is not liable for guests who are denied entry.
If additional transport is required because a passenger on one of our public passenger vehicles cannot enter a venue, then further costs may apply for the bus and driver to take them back home or to another destination. To avoid the disappointment of being denied entry and incurring additional fees on the day, please check the vaccination status of all travellers and the entry rules of your destination before booking your charter.
We look forward to continuing to provide our spectacular day tours and convenient minibus charters to fully vaccinated guests from all around Australia. We would hate for our customers to be faced with the disappointment of being denied entry to venues or our tour vehicles due to their vaccination status, so we will be doing everything possible to provide guests with the information required before the date of their booking.
